Position Summary
EBI Consulting is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Certified Industrial Hygienist Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health and safety consulting services to biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies, research facilities, health care institutions, educational institutions, and diversified manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have a background in OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance, environmental health & safety program development, risk identification, and compliance auditing.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of EHS/IH Services and this will be a work from home position, with approximately 30% local and national travel. The majority of clients this position will support are located in New England so preference will be paid to candidates already established in this area. Candidates should have prior experience working from home and traveling to client sites, and be excited to continue under this model moving forward.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing health and safety programs for various clients
- Assess existing health and safety programs in client settings work to reduce potential incidents, injuries, and workplace exposures to chemicals and physical job hazards
- Conduct detailed health and safety audits with emphasis on achieving compliance to meet State and Federal permit, OSHA, and USEPA requirements
- Develop and manage workplace safety protocols and applicable safety training Understand environmental regulations and application of such within various settings
- Perform duties as the EBI Corporate Health and Safety Manager
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science required
- 10+ years of progressive professional work experience in environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field
- Required to have and maintain one or more of the following certifications and/or registrations: CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional) and/or PE (Professional Engineer).
