Your missions

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and driven individual to join our dynamic Department of Anthropology team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and implementing a creative communications strategy that aligns with our department's goals. Your efforts will help boost our visibility, enhance our reputation, and foster connections within and beyond our university community.

You will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to turn complex information into captivating content across various platforms. If you're a storyteller with a flair for digital media and a knack for social engagement, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a unified media, communications, and marketing identity for the Department of Anthropology.
  • Create and implement a dynamic media and communications strategy that spans print, social, and digital media.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to produce visual and written content for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Design, edit, and produce department branding, promotional materials, and digital media.
  • Craft and manage compelling social media campaigns, oversee existing channels, expand our social media presence, and analyze engagement metrics.
  • Oversee the management of the department website.
  • Collaborate with communication teams to ensure our stories are featured on college and university platforms.
  • Enhance our media presence by building strong relationships and pitching engaging story ideas to local, regional, and national media.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Telecommunications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in public/media relations, content creation, or marketing.
  • Proficiency in graphic design, web content management (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), and digital/print media production.
  • Experience with social media management and analytics.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

  • Innovative and creative thinking with a strong vision for visual storytelling.
  • Experience in producing impactful visual content and managing social media campaigns.
  • Demonstrated skills in graphic design, photography, and videography.
