Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5 years of experience in SBA lending, commercial lending, or a similar field. If you are familiar with the SBA program, loan servicing, portfolio management, and financial analysis, and possess excellent communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the SBA Special Assets Team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Upholding the core values of integrity, respect, positive attitude, empowerment, accountability, and excellence.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and reinforcing a positive banking experience for all clients.
  • Collaborating with the SVP/SBA Audit & Special Assets Manager to mitigate bank losses in various areas such as problem loans, foreclosures, and litigation.
  • Managing the timely collection, negotiation, and resolution of past due loan payments for the SBA Portfolio in accordance with SBA and bank regulations.
  • Monitoring and reviewing marginal SBA Annual Reviews, conducting financial analyses, and identifying risks to recommend appropriate loan grading.
  • Ensuring timely PIP disbursements on the SBA Portfolio, including reviewing documentation for compliance with regulations.
  • Conducting full audits on problematic loans and addressing issues in alignment with SBA and bank regulations.
  • Gathering necessary data and documentation for SBA 10-Tab submissions.
  • Assisting in reviewing and monitoring legal notices related to the SBA Portfolio.
  • Addressing departmental lien perfection and other portfolio issues as needed.
  • Monitoring and contacting customers to resolve past due taxes and force-placed insurance.
  • Ensuring all special asset processes and procedures adhere to SBA and bank regulations.
  • Conducting skip tracing to obtain valid customer contact information as needed.
  • Managing and updating customer contact information within the SBA portfolio.
  • Sending timely correspondence and reports in accordance with SBA and bank regulations.
  • Providing detailed reports of special asset efforts and discussing portfolio recommendations with management.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and implementation of security precautions to protect customer loans, collateral, bank assets, and staff.
  • Managing lending-related general ledger accounts and processing necessary corrections.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited 4-year college or university, or at least 5 years of banking experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in special assets, financial analysis, or credit review is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and training in special assets, financial statements, and tax return analysis.
  • Advanced understanding of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan products, as well as related state and federal lending and compliance laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in title policies and related loan regulations such as RESPA, HMDA, and other bank lending policies.
