Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Partnership Development, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Partnership Development, will provide an array of financial, data aggregation, analytical, diligence, and relationship management to support to agilon’s business and strategic development activities, to further support agilon’s expansion of existing markets and into new markets.  The successful candidate is an independent, analytical, and intellectually curious individual who can source information, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, structure analyses and strategies and articulate findings to wide range of business stakeholders, including senior leadership throughout the organization.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluate potential new partnership or acquisition opportunities; prepare financial models summarizing projected near term and longer term financial impact of potential transaction(s), including key metrics, ratios and industry and local benchmarking comparisons;

  • Lead analysis of industry trends and competitive landscape, including evaluation of potential new markets and opportunities. Deliver insightful, data-driven recommendations to management. Update existing documents and manage internal databases accordingly. Compile and synthesize large amounts of data.

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including complex operating and valuation analyses

  • Build presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors and provide analyses and recommendations to assist with strategic decision-making

  • Lead transaction and due diligence processes as needed

  • Participate as an active financial leader during due diligence on partnership opportunities, including evaluation of potential partners’ financial and operating data for incorporation into assessments and recommendations

  • Oversee other junior team members on the Business Development team

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, capable of breaking down highly complex problems and large amounts of data, and synthesizing them into a coherent strategy and financial models

  • Familiarity with actuarial analyses; ability to collaborate with actuarial leadership to complete population health analyses

  • Experience with corporate finance and valuation practices, familiarity with accounting and financial planning practices.

  • Power user of Excel; capable of building robust and detailed financial models.

  • Familiarity with leveraging external databases to drive analysis.

  • Ability to translate results into crisp presentations to senior management; fluency in Powerpoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, work under pressure to meet time deadlines, and work independently without constant supervision

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Possess sound business judgment and works with a sense of urgency

  • Strong communication skills; ability to present findings and recommendations to a wide range of constituents verbally and/or in presentation formats

  • Adaptability to working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 6-7 years of analytical experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, and/or a corporate development, strategy, or planning & analysis role.

  • At least 4 years of managed care and/or physician group industry experience required

Education/Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; MBA and/or related advanced education in health management highly preferred.

Pay Range:
$183,600.00 - $229,500.00

Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
