About the Opportunity

This position is based out of Pakenham, Victoria - Australia.

Driscoll’s Australia (DANZ) is currently seeking an experienced Tissue Culture Laboratory Supervisor to join their team based at the newly commissioned Nursery and TC Lab facility in south-east Victoria. Our TC lab produces over 1 million plants annually and is supported by a dedicated team of circa 25 lab staff. Reporting to the Lab Manager, this role will allow you to leverage your technical skills and supervisory experience to guide your team in the execution of production practices extending to clean stock and propagation protocols, as well as ensuring plant production plans (yield, timing, and quality) are achieved.

 
Responsibilities

Some of your key duties will include: 

  • Supporting day to day lab operations extending to; rostering, generating work orders and directions, training, documentation maintenance, hygiene controls, and production reporting. 

  • Supporting management in production planning activities, as well as coordination of plant deliveries to nurseries and third-party laboratories.

  • Ensuring media inventory availability to specifications as required and oversight of stock controls and record keeping of media inventory.

  • Ensuring staff follow high standards of safety across lab activities.

  • Recording and reporting on lab production activities including records management.

   
Candidate Profile
  • Must have previous experience working in a plant tissue culture laboratory facility.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and data recording systems (Invitrosoft or equivalent software)

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills

  • Supervisory experience

  • Work authorization in Australia or willingness to relocate to Australia on a long-term basis
