The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a remote team responsible for building and maintaining Arch's IT infrastructure as we move from private data centers to the hybrid cloud. The engineer will build, deploy or fine-tune Microsoft Azure and AWS services for internal customers around the globe. The engineer will also build, deploy and maintain compute and storage platforms in our on-premise data centers.

• Build and maintain systems infrastructure in the private data center and public cloud.
• Migrate services from private data centers to public cloud.
• Design and implement a variety of Azure-based solutions using cloud automation
frameworks (Terraform, GitHub) and manually.
• Responsible for compute, storage, and data protection platforms in multiple data centers.
• Automation of system processes, day-to-day tasks, and customer requests.
• Patch storage and compute systems for stability and increased security.
• Write and maintain process and procedure documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and managing Azure or AWS infrastructure and services.
• Experience with managing cloud storage.
• Deployment of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong scripting experience.
• Administration of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux.
• Strong understanding of services such as VMs, ASR, AKS, Data Factory, Function Apps,
Web Apps, etc.
• Understanding of RBAC, PIM, Entra ID, and Active Directory, Control Tower.
• Experience with managing compute, storage, VMware and backup platforms in on-premise
data centers is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely and self-discipline to complete assigned work and communicate
clearly the status of the work.
• Ability to overlap work schedule with US Eastern Standard Time and facilitate critical
incidents as needed.

Required Skills/Experience

• 8+ years in IT operations/engineering with at least 5+ years’ experience in Azure
(preferred) or AWS.
• Cloud Resource and management groups, landing zones, policies, etc.
• Azure Blob, Files, backup, S3, NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP a plus.
• Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions.
• Microsoft PowerShell, bash or similar language.
• Windows, Linux (RHEL preferred).
• Nutanix, Cisco UCS, NetApp, XtremIO, MDS, AHV, VMware, Rubrik.
• Agile methodology, Jira a plus

• General understanding of Azure networking (e.g. VNETs, routing, peering, firewall
rules).

• Minimum of 4-year degree in an Information Technology field or something similar.
• Microsoft Azure Certified Administrator or Microsoft Azure Certified Developer.
