Your missions

We are on the mission to build Europe’s leading energy management platform to provide fair, clean energy to everyone. ⚡

We’re a diverse team of 40+, with 52% being female and from 14+ nationalities, and steadily growing. With having raised a total of €22.5 M, we are looking for passionate people to join us on our mission! 🚀

Energy. Just Better.

We are looking for a motivated Intern, starting November, to support us in the green revolution of the electricity market as a digital electricity provider.

As part of the Finance team, you will help us to further develop and automate our power sourcing, hedging and trading processes. This includes, among other things, the automation of data processing, unit testing and output visualization with Tableau dashboards.

Your tasks

  • Automate our data processing with daily/monthly jobs on AWS and define the database structure to store input data and results of our hedging process
  • Constant improvement of our existing code base, adhering to best practices in software engineering, including unit testing
  • Build beautiful Tableau dashboards for data analysis and hedging process monitoring
  • Depending on skillset: Improve our hedging and forecasting methodology

Your profile

  • Student enrolled in computer science, or similar
  • Coding experience in Python and SQL
  • Familiar with unit testing, basic principles in software engineering and database design
  • You have very good organizational and communication skills in English (B2-C1), both written and spoken
  • You have a hands-on mentality and enjoy working in a young and dynamic environment
  • You have strong teamwork skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in Tableau
  • Knowledge of the German energy market, especially regarding sourcing, hedging and pricing
  • You have an understanding of stock markets (e.g. future, spot and intraday markets) and derivative products (e.g. futures/forwards & options)
  • Good knowledge of applied mathematics / data science (e.g., statistics, linear algebra, (convex) optimization, machine learning)

Why us?

  • Environmental Impact: Each customer who switches to Ostrom on average helps offset 1.5 tons of CO2 emissions per year compared to the average German energy mix
  • Flexibility: We offer a hybrid work model with a dog-friendly office in Berlin, Mitte if you prefer working in the office.
  • Trust-based Team: A truly flat hierarchy and transparent company culture, where everyone’s voice matters
  • Benefits: From monthly team events to discounted gym membership, ticket for public transport, e-Moped or e-Bike via Dance, Futurebens, and monthly vouchers

About Us

As the fastest growing green and digital Certified B Corp™ energy provider in Germany, we are driving the energy transition making renewable energy more accessible and inclusive. We do this by offering variable tariffs, dynamic pricing, Smart EV Charging, smart HVAC, solar, and more!

At Ostrom you will work in a dynamic and open environment, where you have space to be yourself, take on challenges, and grow.

  • You do you: Flexibility ensures everyone can work where is best for them. Office goer? Awesome. Working from home? Awesome. Working from Sardinia? Jealous.
