Summary

A multinational utility scale Solar & co-located BESS developer, owner and operator are looking for a Grid Manager to join their growing grid team. As Grid Manager, you’ll lead on all grid matters in the UK for the company and will manage a grid engineer within your team.

The Grid Manager will work with the internal development team to improve engagement with TSOs / DSOs in driving projects forward by having regular direct interactions and managing portfolio calls with relevant project managers at the TSOs / DSOs.

You’ll improve site finding, including updating and maintaining the companies database of T&D grid infrastructure information and provide technical reviews of all received grid offers, identifying key connection and commercial risks.

This is a home based role in the UK, with fortnightly overnight travel to the company offices in the South East

Other responsibilities:

  • Identify available capacity, points of connection and optimising grid connection solutions
  • Assess early-stage project opportunities through feasibility studies
  • Prepare grid connection applications
  • Interpret and advise the team on connection offers Advise on regulatory changes
  • Provide electrical engineering advice throughout the project lifecycle

Your Profile:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the workings of DNOs / TSOs / iDNOs / ICPs relating to power projects
  • Experience in building relationships with the DNOs / TSOs / iDNOs / ICPs
  • Knowledge of grid upgrades and reinforcements projects
  • Background in power project development
  • Ability to identify grid capacity
  • Desire to take ownership of individual projects
