Job description

Are you an attorney who would like to put your ability to manage a high volume of litigation matters to use in a mediation setting? Would you like to get some in-house experience? Are you known for your strong communication and organizational skills? If so, Latitude has an exciting in-house opportunity for a junior attorney to join a top-tier healthcare company's legal department. Our corporate client is looking to engage an attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience for a full-time, remote engagement.

This role requires experience managing a high volume of cases through a resolution process via direct settlement discussions, scheduling and representing clients interests in mediations, and facilitating the escalation of claims that are not resolved via mediation within statutory timeframes. You will work as part of a collaborative team responsible for resolving payment and contractual disputes, so experience with negotiations and settlements in a pre-litigation or litigation context is helpful. Prior healthcare, insurance, claims, or collection experience is also preferred.

This is a short-term, remote, contract engagement (as a full-time benefits-eligible Latitude W2 employee) that is expected to start on November 1st and run at least 3 months (and may renew on a monthly basis thereafter).

Basic Requirements for the Junior In-House Counsel:

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience
  • Highly professional, self-motivated, detail-oriented, positive attitude, and outstanding oral and written communication skills required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law (Texas law license preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Excel required
  • Outstanding professional references

Compensation:

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, and credentials.
