Job Summary

As a Product Designer I at Paycor, you will work closely with other product designers, software engineers, and product managers to create exceptional software products. You will apply basic UX principles to develop simple, effective experiences that meet our customers' needs. Your responsibilities include creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and other design deliverables. You'll be the voice of our users, helping teams understand how users interact with our products.

While you may have limited experience, you'll take on significant projects with guidance from experienced designers. We expect you to have basic knowledge of user research and usability testing, with opportunities to grow these skills. You should be a strategic thinker, active listener, and motivated learner with a passion for users and effective collaboration.

Duties and Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research with customers (e.g. observation and in-depth interviews)
  • Create sketches, wireframes, and prototypes with user-centric solutions based on user analytics and insights that clearly communicate concepts to your teams, stakeholders, and users
  • Help facilitate usability tests to improve designs and to give us the confidence to move forward with design decisions
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams in order to build a shared understanding of user needs, software behaviors, and business goals

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field preferred, OR 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience conducting user research and usability tests
  • Proficiency with common UX tools for wireframing and prototyping (e.g. Figma, Miro, etc.)
  • Understand current web and mobile design standards
  • Experience following Agile methodologies and working closely with Agile teams
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills along with a portfolio demonstrating your abilities
  • Requires business English proficiency equivalent to a level B2 CEFR or higher.
