Your missions

Description

The Billing Specialist is responsible for a variety of routine billing, accounting, and administrative tasks aimed at supporting the Revenue Cycle function. This role operates under close supervision, adhering to established internal controls and procedures for all billing transactions while ensuring a high level of customer service.

Job Highlights

  • Shift: Mon-Fri, 8AM-5PM
  • Pay: Starting at $18/hour, with rate increases based on years of experience
  • Remote after in-person training

Essential Functions

  • Build knowledge and skills to effectively manage all service-to-payment conversion processes, including denials, non-response, service error management, authorizations, and eligibility.
  • Verify insurance and eligibility for all patients through online portals or phone calls; update patient accounts with correct insurance information.
  • Manage accurate documentation of patient demographics.
  • Determine the necessity of pre-authorization and obtain authorization for scheduled procedures via phone, website, or form.
  • Receive and post payments from clients.
  • Contact patients and/or clinical programs directly to obtain additional insurance information.
  • Monitor and complete daily fax requests.
  • Communicate insurance and other important updates to appropriate staff.
  • Meet established production goals.
