Job Description:

GliaCell is seeking a Senior Database Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.

Team Description: 

The Data Team is focused on modernizing business IT systems that currently span multiple databases, user interfaces, and data formats. The team will initially focus on documenting existing systems and creating a plan to migrate to a new platform.  The second phase includes the migration of business data from the legacy systems to the new platform. The SE3 will be responsible for documenting entity relationships, data dictionaries, system interfaces, and data flows.  They will work with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to document existing workflows and recommend optimizations to the platform and workflows based on user needs.

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science (or a related subject) (4 years of work experience can be substituted for the degree).
  • 7+ years with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Systems Engineering (or related field), or 12+ years without the degree.

Required Skills: 

  • Database design/operations/maintenance, reverse engineering, data normalization and cleansing, scripting, data analysis and visualization, and data security.

Desired Skills:

  • Oracle, knowledge of existing BM&A systems

Location: Columbia, Maryland, and Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Salary Range: The salary range for this full-time position is $115,000 to $190,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred position during the hiring process.
