Regional Account Manager – Leeds/West Yorkshire

We are currently looking for an experienced Regional Account Manager to manage a portfolio of high-profile PFI projects, responsible for total facilities management. The successful candidate will have full leadership and financial responsibility with a primary focus on operational and commercial compliance.You will lead, develop, manage, and motivate a support services team to the Mitie standards, ensuring that the client receives services of the highest quality. You will be responsible for the development of the business strategy in line with current and emerging client need.
What you'll be doing…
Customer
You will own, develop, and maintain positive and sustainable relationships with all contracts. Regular meetings regarding the operating unit facilities' performance and compliance will be conducted for visibility. You will manage NPS scores and annual engagement targets, meeting and exceeding client expectations in regards to customer excellence and communication.
People
You will manage a team of predominantly site-based Account Managers within the specific operating unit, ensuring their adherence to Mitie's training, compliance, and development processes. Leading a culture that puts our people first, you will set standards for culture and behaviour. Monitoring and evaluating employee development, including succession plans and talent mapping, will be part of your role. You will manage the recruitment, induction, and training for the team when required, as well as payroll and salary approvals for the team of Direct Reports. Additionally, you will handle disciplinaries, appeals, grievances, etc., for the team when required, ensuring the dissemination of Mitie policies, processes, and procedures throughout teams. Regular team meetings will be conducted to deliver key business updates.
Service Delivery
You will oversee the overall management of service obligations and output specifications, as well as contractual SLA's and KPI's. Strategically managing contractual obligations, you will proactively deal with escalations raised by the team. Awareness of industry innovation, appropriate to the contracts managed, will be essential.
Finance
Full P&L management for the operating unit, managing risks and opportunities, debt, accrued income, invoicing, lifecycle, reconciliations, etc. You will also manage ANOC (Additional Notice of Change), capex, opex, and variations, providing monthly business overviews and updates to the OUD.
Compliance
You will promote and safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk who use the facilities in which Mitie operates. Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection, you will report all concerns to an appropriate person. Managing the mandatory training for the entire team, including full completion, will be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure visibility and emphasis on handback for preparedness, liaising with authority for demobilisation, site visits, and audits in relation to handback readiness. Ensuring compliance of Mitie processes, policies, and procedures for the operating unit, you will ensure statutory compliance is achieved, analysed, and reported with regular dip-testing across the operating unit. PPM and reactive contractual compliance, within the service specification including deductions and SLA's, will be managed. Full risk management, including risk registers, BCP's, and other risk measures, will be your responsibility, along with coordinating, managing, and improvingaudits.
Commercial
Identify growth and organic growth opportunities for the operating unit. Awareness of industry innovation, appropriate to the contracts managed, will be crucial. You will undertake commercial due diligence for potential new opportunities and identify areas for continuous improvement, both internal and external, across the operating unit. Managing Mitie's sustainability and net zero initiatives to drive improved ESG will also be part of your role.
Our ideal candidate….
You must have IOSH or NEBOSH Certification and be able to undertake enhanced vetting (DBS/PVG etc.). Experience within a similar environment is required, along with IT literacy and experience using the MSOffice suite. You should have the ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of direct reports, and possess strong experience in managing finances, budgets, P&L's, etc. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across hierarchies and departments, are essential. You should have strong relationship-building skills across multiple hierarchies and departments, including experience with conflict resolution. Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt to change and remain agile at all times are necessary. Strong commercial acumen and a requirement to travel are also essential.
