Public Equities (EQ)
We generate sustainable, superior returns through active investments across global equity markets. Strategies include total return strategies, absolute return strategies, and relative return strategies. Our long-term orientation and strong relationships with corporates provide us with opportunities to capitalize on market volatility to deliver strong investment performance.
The Global Emerging Markets team invests in companies operating in Emerging markets. Combining top-down macro views and bottom-up stock analysis, we seek to uncover companies that are exposed to structural emerging market growth drivers. While we cover all emerging markets, we have particularly strong on-the-ground expertise in Latin America, Emerging Europe, and the Middle East, where we have been investing for more than a decade.

What will you do as an EMEA Equities Investment Analyst?
•Sector Coverage: Conduct in-depth primary research to thoroughly understand companies and their capital allocation strategies within several sectors. Provide differentiated insights and recommendations to the portfolio manager to inform investment choices
•Macroeconomic and Market Assessment: Perform thorough fundamental evaluation of emerging market economies to identify investment opportunities and turning points. Conduct geopolitical assessment to understand and anticipate economic trends, policy changes, and market movements. Utilize both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to evaluate potential investments and formulate actionable insights
•Investment Strategies: Assist in developing and implementing investment strategies that leverage global macroeconomic themes and trends. Collaborate with the portfolio manager to construct diversified portfolios designed to achieve optimal returns while managing risk
•Risk Management: Implement robust risk management practices, regularly assessing the risk-reward profile of all investments. Stay vigilant of market conditions, potential risks, and their economic impact on portfolio holdings
•Collaboration: Work within a highly collaborative global team environment, sharing and absorbing insights that can enhance investment strategies. Thoughtfully participate in regular discussions about market trends and developments, contributing to the collective expertise of our team and company
•Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Conduct portfolio management activities with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
•Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in conducting deep-dive investment evaluation in Emerging Markets EMEA equities (such as GCC, CEE, and South Africa), preferably within an institutional investment setting. Existing sectorial expertise would be advantageous
•Businesses Insights Skills: Highly proficient in conducting independent detailed fundamental evaluation on businesses. Also, able to articulate the unique advantages and quality of the company’s franchise value, its capital allocation strategies and value creation drivers over the long term. Demonstrated ability to conduct primary research
•Quantitative Skills: Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to utilize financial modeling and insightful tools to build models for companies on a bottom-up basis
•Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using advanced financial software and platforms for portfolio management and evaluation. Familiarity with risk management systems and practices
•Macroeconomic Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of selected EMEA countries and the ability to formulate views on economic and geopolitical developments
•Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex investment ideas clearly and effectively. Collaborative mindset with a strong desire to learn from and contribute to a team environment
•Ethics and Professionalism: Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct and professional integrity. Ability to make sound choices under pressure, maintaining a focus on long-term goals
•Language Skills: Given the coverage of EMEA markets, business level proficiency in any of the languages used in Emerging Markets EMEA markets would be a plus
