Description

We are seeking a dedicated Post-Close Quality Control (QC) Specialist to join our compliance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of loan documentation and disclosures post-closing. The ideal candidate will work closely with Loan Officers, providing guidance and education on compliance requirements while performing detailed reviews to identify and resolve any discrepancies. This position combines compliance expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to maintain the highest standards of quality and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Source Testing: Collaborate with Loan Officers to review documentation, request necessary corrections, and provide education on compliance requirements. Handle scenarios requiring critical thinking and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Compliance Post-Close QC: Conduct thorough reviews of loan files against compliance checklists, including Loan Estimate (LE), Closing Disclosure (CD) accuracy, fee changes, and unallowable third-party fees.
  • Exam File Review and Preparation: Perform high-level file scrubs using a prescribed checklist, including administrative tasks such as saving and uploading loan packages.
  • Compliance Testing: Execute a range of compliance tests, including advanced TRID and Jumbo file reviews. Evaluate state-specific disclosures and compliance with additional requirements like Anti-Coercion Insurance Disclosure, Balloon Payment Disclosure, and more.
  • Documentation and Acknowledgments: Ensure all required documents are accurate and complete, including borrower certifications, privacy policies, consumer credit reports, and compliance agreements.
  • Risk and Benefit Analysis: Review net tangible benefits for refinances and high-cost loans, ensuring proper documentation and analysis are completed.

Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise

Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding of compliance requirements for Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, and state-specific disclosures. Familiarity with federal and state regulations, including FHA, RHS, and HMDA data accuracy.

Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail for reviewing loan documentation and identifying discrepancies.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with Loan Officers and other stakeholders, providing guidance and education on compliance matters.

Critical Thinking: Capable of handling scenarios with multiple compliance considerations and escalating issues appropriately.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using compliance software and tools for reviewing and managing loan files.

Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently, ensuring all compliance reviews are completed promptly.

Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying potential compliance risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in compliance software and tools for reviewing and managing loan files, including Encompass LOS and ACES.
