Position Summary

As a Recovery Representative within our Revenue Integrity team, you hold a pivotal position in ensuring hospitals receive accurate compensation for the services they provide. In this role you will facilitate the recovery process for healthcare claims that have been denied, underpaid, or remain outstanding. Much of your day will be spent making phone calls to insurance companies to explain reasons for underpayment or resolving barriers to receiving payment. You will utilize your strong analytical skills, time management strategies, and effective communication to navigate the complexities of insurance billing and claims processing to secure timely and accurate reimbursement for our hospital clients.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Utilize Company and Department best practices to maximize workflow efficiency, ensuring time is allocated to activities that yield the greatest impact on revenue recovery. This may include grouping similar activities together or prioritizing tasks based on urgency or value.
  • Contact insurance companies via phone call or online portal to obtain missing information, explain and resolve underpayments and arrange for payment processing on behalf of client.
  • Maintain detailed records of claims recovery activities, including call notes, correspondence, and next steps.
  • Actively participate in discussions, meetings, and brainstorming sessions where team members contribute insights and suggestions for improving processes.
  • Adhering to professional standards when interacting with insurance company representatives during collection activities. This includes maintaining a courteous and respectful tone, regardless of the outcome of the claims or any challenges encountered.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to upholding ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines in all reimbursement optimization activities.


Skills And Experience

  • Strong analytical abilities to dissect complex guidelines and understand their implications on claims reimbursement.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with payers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Effective Time Management skills to maximize productivity and revenue recovery efforts.
  • Demonstrates strong Conflict Resolution skills when encountering disagreements or disputes with insurance companies regarding claim reimbursement.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare reimbursement, such as HIPAA, CMS regulations, and state-specific requirements.


Work at Home Requirements:

  • A quiet, distraction-free environment to work from in your home. 
  • A secure internet connection is required. 
  • Home internet with speeds >20 Mbps for downloads and >10 Mbps for uploads. 
  • The workspace area accommodates all workstation equipment and related materials and provides adequate surface area to be productive.
