Your missions

Description

Sports Illustrated is looking for a Designer who is passionate about design and sports to join our editorial creative team. You will report to SI’s Creative Director and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects- independently and collaboratively. You will primarily support our monthly print publication but will also need to have a strong understanding of how print translates to all digital platforms. 


What You’ll Do:


  • Design for all aspects of the magazine, including feature stories, packages and FOB pages. 
  • Translate print assets for digital executions (web graphics, long-form and social) 
  • Approve final color before press
  • Collaborate with designers and editors from multiple departments 
  • Assign (or create) illustrations and infographics.


The expected salary range for this position is between $65,500 - $75,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. The benefits available for this position include flexible vacation policy, 15 paid holidays, paid parental leave, health insurance, 401(k) with company match.





Requirements


What You Have:


  • At least 1 year of experience as a print designer for a publication or media company, with a B.A., B.S. or related degree
  • A strong portfolio that highlights typography and layout skills across all platforms: digital, print and social  
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Woodwing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet their deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Illustration, Motion and Development knowledge is a plus.
