Your missions

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented project management professional for the role of Sr. Manager – Donor Support for Individual Giving (IG). The Sr. Manager – Donor Support for IG is an essential resource to the implementation of new and existing individual donor relationships for the Major, Principal, and Planned Giving teams (IG).


This role is responsible for assisting and supporting the frontline fundraisers in implementing strategy and executing day-to-day operational tasks including but not limited to: working with communications to produce proposals, stewardship reports, etc.; and managing portfolios of open development officer positions. They will appreciate working in a strategic environment with metrics in place to help them achieve their annual goals.


Location: preferred to be based at our administrative headquarters in Atlanta, GA on a hybrid basis, but it may also be remote within the US.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Director, Principal Giving, serve as a skilled project manager for interactions with donors, affiliates, and Habitat internal depts. throughout development and implementation as requested by Major, Principal, and Planned Giving Officers (20%)

• Collaborate with Major, Principal, and Planned Giving Officers to develop an overall fundraising strategy to meet/exceed revenue goals; create new proposals and implement plans that meet the needs of the donor relationship as defined by the frontline fundraiser, Directors, Senior Director, and/or VP of Individual Giving (20%)

• Execute all duties necessary for the successful implementation of the donor relationship, including cross-functional collaboration with Finance, programmatic subject matter experts, Communications, Donor Relations, Legal and other stakeholders, as appropriate (15%)

• Lead and complete semi-annual data share project within the domestic affiliate network to determine potential shared donor relationships and log respective affiliate outreach in donor management database (CRM) (20%)

• Attend monthly team meeting for each team (Major, Principal, and Planned Giving) to coordinate and carryout project management responsibilities and/or completion of proposals and reports (20%)

• Other duties as assigned (5%)


Project Execution & Monitoring:

• Hold primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day ongoing operational aspects of assigned reporting requests for Major, Principal, and Planned Giving

• Coordinate the identification and management of an extended support team (including Habitat affiliates, HFHI regional area staff & affiliates and HFHI internal depts.) to successfully implement donor requirements and expectations

• Execute all project management processes including managing SharePoint file system to host all documentation related to assigned donors

• Collaboration with Finance to set up necessary project codes and financial reporting systems to monitor and report on program

• Serve as internal project lead for all HFHI-sponsored events such as Carter Work Project, National Affiliate Conference, and global donor engagement trips, etc. and work with communications dept. to disseminate information to frontline fundraisers for dissemination to donors on these events

• Work in collaboration with the Director, Principal Giving and Principal Giving function, including the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer, to facilitate donor communications from the CEO’s office, prepare prospect briefing documents and oversee the development of proposals with the communications team


Evaluation & Reporting:

• Monitor and route monthly/quarterly financials to frontline fundraisers after reconciliation by HFHI Finance team; review quarterly outstanding pledges; inform area offices & intl. affiliates, as funds are available, when applicable

• Actively participate in sharing of best practices with relevant stakeholders

• Develop strong collaboration with major, principal, and planned giving teams through the development of business processes to streamline team effectiveness


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

• 3-4 years in fundraising and/or donor strategy or equivalent experience in project management


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, and to listen, and an unusual capacity to engage, inspire and persuade

• Superior analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and high degree of personal initiative

• Ability to collaborate with others in a complex, matrix-structured, dynamic organizational environment

• Fundraising Database experience (Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, etc.)

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks involving multiple stakeholders

• Fundraising and/or significant customer service experience a plus

• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment

• Demonstrated computer skills proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office)


Preferred Requirements:

• Prior experience interfacing with donors directly

• Experience working in a federated organization structure

• Desire to develop skillset towards a career in nonprofit resource development function

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $62,560 to $73,600.


Staff hired on a hybrid basis in the United States near an HFHI office location (Atlanta, Georgia / Washington, DC and Americus, GA), are required to report to the office on Tuesdays.
