The Manager, System Engineering, is responsible for providing high quality support to fault tolerant infrastructure to meet the defined business requirements. The manager collaborates with peer groups to ensure all support and operational requirements are considered as part of the overall solution.

What you will do:

  • Serve as the liaison to other Information Technology Teams to incorporate Infrastructure support requirements into an overall technical solution.
  • Oversee a support strategy together with resource plans to support company objectives, project timelines and budget.
  • Collaborate with other IT Managers to provide high quality input to initiative proposals and estimates; identify areas of opportunity to provide shared IT infrastructure support across multiple IT platforms.
  • Ensure standards and processes are in place and followed for physical and virtual technology strategies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed, occasionally working evenings, weekends or overnight.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor Enterprise Collaboration Services team members. Includes performance management, recruiting, and project management.
  • Responsible for consistent operations, maintenance, and upgrades to Microsoft Services platform.
  • Responsible as a liaison between IT teams and business units to translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement business improvement projects that require Platform Services.
  • Responsible for ensuring Platform Services reliability and availability to meet mission and enterprise requirements.
  • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities and requirements for improved collaboration.
  • Research offers to meet requirements of business collaboration demands.
  • Planning of Implementation and integration of solution to Coordinate installation of new hardware, software, and services.
  • Coordination of training and acceptance o Identify measurements for utilization and effectiveness of deployed solution o Planning of transition to support team(s)
  • Capacity planning for future infrastructure needs and participate in business continuance planning for infrastructure.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and prioritization of collaboration technology problems.
  • Coordinate with IT Service Desk to communicate status and respond to questions.
  • Work collaboratively with other Infrastructure teams, Application Development, Project Management Office, Support, QA, and E-Commerce on projects as required. 


  

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years IT Infrastructure experience and 1+ years management experience. OR, 11 Years of IT Infrastructure experience and 1+ years management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with critical attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/365 suite and components
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure suite and components focusing on identity lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills can effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership.
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Track record of building and maintaining cross-function, collaborative working relationships
  • Solid project management skills with experience with SAFE/Agile
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document and manage processes.
  • Working experience in Microsoft Cloud platforms design and implementation to include Azure Stack HCI, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Azure Virtual machines, a plus.
  • Infrastructure Automation tools (Preference is Ansible and Terraform) experience with Puppet Kubernetes and Docker a plus.
  • 2 years managing/supporting with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Directory Service (Entra), a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Hyper-converged infrastructure, a plus.
  • Knowledge of Dell Storage and backup technologies, a plus.
  • Experience with IBM Power platforms, a plus.
  • Monitoring and reporting – focus on analytics, a plus.
  • Infrastructure Applications Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, WSUS, a plus.
  • Infrastructure, and Data Center Disaster Recovery, a plus.
  • Ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience, a plus.
