SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our Cloud One team on the Government A1 Enclave by Cloud One project. The Air Force A1 Enclave by Cloud One Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized hybrid, and IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data in support of DoD Services and Agencies. On-Call after hours support may be required for critical systems. The candidate will collaborate with the customer to determine root cause analysis and corrective actions. This candidate will be part of a team working with Government Stakeholders responsible for the design, planning, management, support, and oversight of the A1 Enclave Cloud One Infrastructure.
This position is 100% remote.
Job Responsibilities
Managing the entire lifecycle of Oracle databases from install, required updates, to maintenance (performance monitoring, security, backups, ongoing maintenance).
Database design, implementation, and maintenance DBAs help design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases.
Support customers with specific requirements and support.
Daily monitoring of database backups and alerts with use of tools like the Oracle Enterprise Manager and Slack channel reporting.
create and maintain database backups, and are responsible for restoring the database if the original data is lost or corrupted.
maintain proper documentation for future usage.
Installation and regular patching of Oracle software in accordance with the Oracle Critical Patch Update release schedule for both Linux and Windows systems.
Create and maintain Oracle database system accounts.
Perform troubleshooting both solo and in tandem with customers and coworkers.
identify and troubleshoot performance issues and monitor major data movement processes.
ensure the security of the database and have a consistent security update protocol.
Apply security hardening to Oracle databases to comply with Defense Information Systems Agency regulations and customer standards.
Regular audits of Oracle Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
deploy strong disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications
Required Clearance
Interim Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (or higher) required to maintain employment.
US Citizenship required.
Required Certifications
Security+ Certification.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's and five (5) years experience; Master's and three (3) years of experience
Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Oracle database architecture setting up database user accounts and discovery and debugging malfunctioning programs interfering with database integrity.
Familiar with Oracle database design, coding and documentation.
Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems and SQL (other shell scripting).
Knowledge of programming languages and API.
Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
Administration of the Oracle Enterprise Manager including automation, alerting, credentials, and resource monitoring.
Proficiency with AWS RDBMS, EC2 instances, and S3.
Use of Ansible tools for Oracle database creation and patching.
Experience working with both Standard and Unified Auditing in Oracle.
Working knowledge of RHEL file structure, users, and permissions.
Self organized individual with strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications
Certification in Oracle database administration.
Experience interacting with government customers.
Experience with multiple security concepts and methods, such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures, and governance.
Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues affecting clients related to privacy and data protection.
Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
Experience with enterprise architecture and working as part of a cross-functional team to implement solutions.
Experience working in a team environment with the ability to mentor junior team members
Agile methodology experience/SAFe/SCRUM/ACP.
Target salary range $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
