Markmonitor is the global leader in enterprise domain management. We are looking for a top-performing Strategic Account Manager (SAM) responsible for driving revenue growth by building and managing Strategic accounts, long-term client relationships, and developing key business relationships.  The role requires a strong focus on business development/up-selling and cross-selling to existing clients and securing contract renewals. Responsibilities include driving business by securing meetings with decision makers within target accounts, effectively communicating value proposition, demoing, presenting, and negotiating deals to closurePipeline development is required, as is accurate forecasting, with attention paid to CRM utilization and accuracy. Markmonitor provides a lively and collaborative environment within a dynamic, fast-paced company. 

This position will report to the Head of Account Management and requires a high level of self-directed activity, consistent use of a CRM (Salesforce) and rigorous attention to detailThe SAM will understand the “rhythm” of selling to achieve both quarterly and annual objectives. This person will need to understand details of the domain industry to a reasonable degree and be able to effectively research and identify opportunity as well as speak to/illustrate meaningful differentiations between Markmonitor services and those at several competitors.  

Ideal candidates will have the ability to research for opportunity, consult with customers, identify requirements, present technical information in easily understood terms, and develop relationships that meet/exceed customers needs.   

What you’ll do & how you’ll make your mark.

  • Pipeline building, planning, and accurate forecasting 

  • Researching and assessing prospective client needs and creating qualified opportunities 

  • Presentations, demos, and reviews (Estimated 30% travel for in-person meetings as needed) 

  • Attendance as/when needed at trade shows and industry events 

  • Proposal creation, pricing, & contract negotiation 

  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure integrity of financial, operational, and legal terms 

  • Must have clear understanding of consultative sales process 

  • Professional interaction with senior staff at global, multi-national enterprises as well as small companies 

  • Highly collaborative interaction with other Markmonitor team members and cross functional partners 

  • Accurate and consistent logging of sales activity in Salesforce 

  • Managing to KPI’s 

Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed.

  • Desire to collaborate and contribute to a competitive but fun working atmosphere 

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate easily & interpersonally with senior executives and decision-makers 

  • Experience working within the Intellectual Property (IP), Online Security, or Domain Management industries strongly preferred 

  • Strong work ethic, holding both themselves and their colleagues accountable – leading by example 

  • Ability to communicate detailed and specific data in a way that is both accurate and digestible 

  • A BA/BS in relevant course work and/or 10+ years of experience selling for a technology company 

  • Proclivity for curiosity and desire for continued learning, evaluation, and problem-solving 

  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint), and LinkedIn 

  • Experience with and commitment to consultative selling, as well as conducting effective product demonstrations & sales presentations
