Company Description

A Principal Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and support for all Sutherland Global Services Infrastructure.  This individual will guide and support the delivery of new infrastructure solutions.  As an IT leader a Principal Architect is expected to work closely with the business to fully understand their business requirements and then work closely with their IT counterparts to translate the business requirements to a technical solution.  All solutions must be thoroughly researched, documented and tested and will be required to present their solution to an Architectural Governance committee for acceptance prior to introducing the solution into production.  A Principal Architect will be responsible for on-call tier 3 operational support if an issue or outage is escalated to their level.           

Job Description
  • Analyze the current Infrastructure environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Analyze technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise infrastructure architecture
  • Responsible for working closely with the partnering groups within Sutherland to gather business requirements and ensure that our technical offering satisfies those requirements.  
  • Responsible for documenting all architectural/engineering documentation and presenting it to other IT peers and Architecture Governance committee for approval and acceptance as a standard service offering.
  • Partners with the Business and Service Delivery team to assist with new Program solutions. 
  • Responsible for Engineering design documentation along with Runbooks for Operations.
  • Partners with development/integrations team for platform support when needed.
  • Develop monitoring solutions to provide proactive monitoring capabilities for the Infrastructure team and utilize these metrics to continue the evolution of the infrastructure.
  • Conduct testing and develop disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and backup systems.
  • Provide highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe
  • Manages vendors on escalated issues and projects specific to your area of influence.
  • Interacts directly with client related to issues, problems, or overall design.
  • Mentors Engineers and IT Solutions Technicians on infrastructure related to area of influence for proper transition to Operations team for platform support.
  • Willingness and ability to cross train others in the varying technologies related to area of influence.
  • Design and lead the implementation of Infrastructure architecture based on enterprise business requirements and IT Strategies.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in configuration of Cisco ASA or Firepower Firewalls. Experience with other vendors Palo Alto, Checkpoint is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in configuration of Cisco routers [ISR4xxx and ASR1xxx] and switches (Catalyst 9500 and Nexus 5K and 9K).
- Thorough technical knowledge in the design, implementation, and operation of TCP/IP networks to include Layers 1-3 routing.
- Load Balancer experience with F5.
- Detailed working knowledge of Cisco Wifi Controllers.
- Detailed understanding of BGP with route filters, prefix-lists and communities.
- Understanding or working knowledge of Python would be beneficial.
- Knowledge or experience working with Confluence collaboration software would be beneficial.
- A detailed working knowledge of the Cisco ACI fabric, experience with Cisco ACI and data center networking.
- A complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Visio for network designs and diagrams.
-Must have excellent communication skills of the English language (verbal and written).
