A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

As the VMware VDI Engineer you will

  • Administer a VMware server and desktop management environment.
  • Provide Tier III support to other VMware administrators.
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of the VMware server and desktop management environment.
  • Execute projects to upgrade and expand resources within the VMware environment.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • 11 years of experience administering a server and/or virtual desktop environment.
  • Hands on experience with the following VMware products:
  • VMware Horizon View administration/management.
  • VMware vRA (vRealize Automation) - now formally called VMware Aria Automation.
  • VMware vROps (vRealize Operations) - now formally called VMware Aria Operations.
  • VMware vCenter/vSphere administration/management.
  • Understanding of VMware ESXi, and VMware NSX-T or V networking Concepts with VDI profile services such as VMware DEM Concepts of backup technologies like Zerto, Netbacks, Avamar IDPA Concepts of Directory Services and multi-site/domain configurations Capacity tracking/planning and resource allocation Office 365 application comfort and knowledge.
  • Extensive VMware Virtualization Experience - install, configure, and manage VMware environment, including Virtual Datacenters, Host Clusters, High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), Storage DRS, and other functions managed by Center Knowledge and working experience of vRealize Operations (vROps) - use vROps for capacity planning and to troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Communication skills to customers/clients over all platforms (Phone, Email, IM chat).
  • Experience troubleshooting virtual storage connectivity and performance issues.
  • Familiar with Windows server and desktop administration.
  • MS in computer science, information technology, or equivalent discipline; or BS and additional years’ experience; or, relevant certifications and additional years' experience.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and any additional customer background investigation requirements prior to employment.

What we are desiring from you (i.e. the nice-to-have qualifications):

  • Network knowledge, skills and demonstrated experience in a complex network data center environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting virtual storage connectivity and performance issues.
  • Experience with replication technologies in a VMware environment - vSphere Replication, Site Recovery Manager Experience working with other VMware management applications
  • Update Manager, Lifecycle Manager, Log Insight, vRealize Network Insight PowerCLI/PowerShell script or equivalent demonstrated experience Minimally, VCA Data Center (and/or Cloud) certification.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Windows Server (Preferred 2016 or later versions) and Active Directory Demonstrated Linux System Administration skills VMware certifications such as VCP-DTM and VCP-CMA.X years of experience working across
