Job Summary

This position provides TriWest with primary market research support. Manages the systematic process of collecting, analyzing, supplying, and applying information collected from important constituents. Develops, organizes, tracks and analyses primary market research data and information for the purpose of accurate and confident decision-making, for identifying performance improvement opportunities and stakeholder strategies, and to use for metrics related to stakeholder/customer service tracking and development. Develops studies to supporting existing and new business opportunities on an ad hoc basis through internal or vendor managed studies. Tracks, analyses and reports information on surveys sponsored by the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other government agencies. Manages cross-functional projects, including outside vendors and multiple internal constituents through a consultative approach focused on business objectives.

A critical component is the art of translating large quantities of detailed data from multiple sources and transforming it into meaningful presentations/information with implications for performance and organizational strategies. Research drives top-level planning, decision-making, operations, performance outcomes, and management's perception of customer's needs and preferences. Work outcomes strengthen and reinforce a customer service-oriented culture and establish TriWest as an innovative leader in value-added customer experience.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Successful candidate must be able to obtain a government-issued Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
  • 5+ years’ experience in a healthcare environment with large scale research study management
  • Ability to conduct some analysis with the use of DHA and VA websites SPSS, WinCross, SAS or other similar resources

Preferred

  • Master of Business Administration or related field
  • Database and market research analysis techniques

Key Responsibilities

  • TriWest has a significant number of quantitative survey efforts underway and upon occasion identifies the need for ad hoc studies. This position is expected to manage and coordinate with project sponsors all primary market research and analysis to help strengthen and reinforce a customer service oriented culture, and to establish TriWest as an innovative leader in the delivery of a value added customer experience. These surveys are sponsored by other areas, but this position will provide overall management and coordination of the efforts along with consolidated analysis and reporting for management decision-making. Studies include: studies that provide 360-degree review from TriWest stakeholders, employee engagement study, ad hoc efforts to support business strategies for new business development in targeted markets, Award Fee survey results, Department of Defense Survey of Beneficiaries and other DoD-conducted studies, VA contract required surveys, Department-specific needs identified to assist operations, and other ad hoc studies.
  • Consults with various TriWest departments to provide market-research based expertise 'in conjunction with internal survey owners, this position will identify and analyze opportunities to leverage the survey data to drive improved decision making for TriWest. Additionally, this role will manage the studies to achieve agreed upon outcomes. This will entail gaining an understanding of the project sponsor needs, translation into optimal survey design, determining the most appropriate methods of data collection and analysis, project management from on-set to delivery of survey results that clarify key business decisions.
  • Delivery of actionable insight that drive tactical and overall strategic improvement activities by directing data analysis and reporting through creation of concise effective reporting. In some cases, this may entail answering questions through the synthesis of existing study information.
  • Performs various analyses such as ANOVA, factor, multiple regression, and cluster analysis to support research projects. While it is not anticipated that this role would have primary responsibility for data analysis, some data analysis will be required.

  • Communication of results as appropriate. This position needs to have the ability to both address technical and operational details and communication of findings to selected audiences.
  • Comfort in taking direction from multiple sources such as project sponsors with direct responsibility and others with job-related accountabilities, in addition to the Director, Strategic Planning and Business Development.
  • Responds to ad hoc requests from senior management to develop materials for presentations.
  • Converts voluminous information into meaningful and actionable data, ensuring accuracy. Translates information into potential implications and strategy opportunities. Presents concise findings in a compelling fashion. Follow-ups with report recipients to ensure clarity of information and address questions.
  • Manages multiple complex projects from inception to completion, applying project management techniques.
  • Provides back-up for other market research roles as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
