Description

Due to a critical service need in the communities we serve, we are introducing a $1,000 sign-on bonus! We are eager to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas, and we need you to contribute to this mission.

As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in inspiring hope and promoting recovery skills while enhancing community living skills. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position.

Responsibilities

  • Share lived experiences of recovery and model successful recovery behaviors.
  • Help individuals recognize their capacity for resilience.
  • Facilitate connections between individuals and their broader community.
  • Support individuals with mental illnesses and substance use disorders in developing a supportive network.
  • Assist individuals in making independent choices and taking a proactive role in their treatment.
  • Identify strengths and personal resources to aid in recovery and assist individuals in setting and achieving recovery goals.
  • Participate as a member of the treatment team, contributing to client Wellness Plans and treatment decisions.
  • Complete required training, attend team meetings, shadow colleagues, and see clients (with supervision) until fully certified.
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients as clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position.

Working Conditions

  • Operating vehicles or machinery is required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Self-identification as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Completion of a state-approved training program, passing a standardized examination, and full certification as a Certified Peer Specialist within 60 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and minimum agency-established automobile coverage.
