Job description

Project description

The Asociación Waved in Panama has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an English Language Curriculum Development Specialist. Waved is a Panamanian social purpose organization focusing on the development of academic and physical skills in multigrade primary students between 7-12 years from the Los Santos Province. Living in an area surrounded by touristic attractions and overall economic growth, having a firm grasp of the English language can optimally position students toward higher paying careers as well as curb the cycle of poverty in Panama's rural areas.

The PCRV will collaborate with members of the Waved organization in reviewing the existing Waved English program and co-create an updated version of Waved’s English as second language curriculum, divided by different grade/ age groups, which includes fun and dynamic English language learning activities for project beneficiaries. The PCRV will also co-facilitate training of trainer (ToT) workshops for teachers, to provide them with the knowledge and skills that allow them to apply the new Waved English language curriculum.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Panama together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
