Senior Business Analyst, Insurance (Underwriting)

Cognizant Insurance Consulting

Cognizant’s Insurance Consulting unit is seeking talented consultants with extensive business analysis and consultative experience of executing large scale business change and IT solutions for General Insurance UK & European Insurance clients. This role provides an opportunity to join a rapidly growing, high energy and entrepreneurial team working with leading UK & Europe based Insurance clients.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Performed Senior Business Analysis/ Functional Consultant roles on complex Business & Technology Transformation Programmes, with Insurance clients; assisting them achieve their business, technology, strategic and operational goals.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar capacity in the field of Underwriting/ Policy Management.
  • An appreciation for both business and technical requirements and the ability to bridge the gap between the two.
  • Full project life-cycle experience Business Analysis experience - with demonstrable knowledge of different project life cycles: waterfall, agile.
  • Experience of managing a small to medium sized teams to execute mid-size program of work or of leading work streams within a larger program of work.
  • Ability to develop creative strategic solutions to solve our clients’ business problems, and create accompanying execution roadmaps to implement the changes.
  • Has worked in a global delivery environment and with distributed teams.

  • Excellent communicator able to deliver a concise message either verbally, or in writing to senior internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience on industry specific solutions such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Acturis.
  • Formal Business Analysis (ISEB), Insurance domain accreditation.


Industry Experience:

  • Deep experience of working within the Insurance industry or Insurance consulting, preferably within Underwriting.
