Job description

Tilt Collective is a new initiative designed to build a global action movement that will in turn accelerate the transition to a world with a more nutritious, sustainable, plant-rich food system. Their mission is to put the world on track for a more secure, healthy, and sustainable food system that is nature and climate-positive, through a radical shift to more plant-rich diets.

You will be joining the organisation at an early stage of its inception - a fantastic opportunity to support the creation and initial strategies that will be rolled out across their six target regions of the world, working with local partners to impact projects directly, and funding strategic research projects to support the communication with key stakeholders globally.

As the Regional Director for Brazil at Tilt Collective, you will play a pivotal role in driving the transition towards a more sustainable and plant-rich food system in the region. You will lead the development and execution of Tilt Collective's strategy in Brazil, working closely with stakeholders to maximize impact and accelerate positive change.

In this role, you will drive:

  • Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive plan tailored to Brasil's context, focusing on catalyzing a plant-rich future and identifying key opportunities for impactful interventions. Foster collaboration and coordination among various stakeholders within the food systems field, including environmental advocates, health professionals, farmers, and consumer groups.
  • Strategy Implementation: Execute Tilt Collective's directed network model of change, ensuring tight coordination and support for grantees to drive tangible results. Adapt and refine strategy as needed based on evolving political, economic, and technological landscapes in Brazil.
  • Grantee Management and Grantmaking: Identify suitable grantees and manage relationships with in-country partners, providing strategic guidance and support throughout the grant execution process. Collaborate with Tilt Collective's leadership team to make informed decisions on grant-making strategy and allocation of resources.

You will bring:

  • 15+ years of professional experience in climate, health, or food systems work, preferably with a focus on philanthropy, advocacy, or civil society engagement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing high-impact strategies, with a track record of driving meaningful change in complex environments.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and partners.
  • Extensive knowledge of Brasil's civil society and business landscape, with established connections and a solid reputation in the field.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a dynamic, changing environment, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative working culture.
  • Experience in budget management, team leadership, and virtual collaboration, ensuring effective resource allocation and team performance.

Location and travel:

This position is a remote role based in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo. The role will have frequent travel to support country programs and attend relevant meetings and conferences.

Tilt Collective's mission is to reduce meat consumption by shaping the choice context for consumers.

They will do this by shifting policy, establishing private sector champions, supporting farmers, and building a wider civil society movement that collectively makes it easier for consumers to choose healthy and sustainable food.
