Job description

 

We are seeking a Manager, Baltimore Jazz Collective who will provide performance and public relations management services to the Baltimore Jazz Collective, and oversees the creation and execution of all elements for annually released albums.


The Baltimore Jazz Collective is an ensemble of Baltimore-area musicians that features each member’s musical voice, compositions, and arrangements.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities


Management of Album Creation and Release

  • Coordinate tracking, mixing and mastering of recorded material for album release.
  • Oversee design needs for physical album and digital releases, solicit graphic design proposals for band to review and approve.
  • Prepare album track listing, tracking times, liner notes, credits, etc.


Coordinating Between Band Members and Venues

  • Schedule Rehearsals, performances, workshops, photography, promotional opportunities and other events.


Booking Engagements

  • Leverage existing relationships to book band engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to build new relationships with venues and event groups.


Public Relations

  • Review and manage marketing strategy for national and local markets.
  • Hire outside PR for local marketing and public relations during album release cycles.
  • Coordinate focused outreach to specific markets.
  • Write press releases.


Other Project duties

  • Coordinate design of website.
  • Launch and manage social media pages.
  • Coordinate other projects BJC band is involved with.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires strong organizational skills, long term strategy development, communication skills, pitching, and relationship building & management.
  • Proficiency required in detail oriented calendar management, consistent communication with band person.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in entertainment business, business, or similar.
  • Minimum 5 year's experience in music industry.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 year's experience in at least one of the following fields: product management, artist management, booking, publicity.
