We’re seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing backend services that power innovative fintech applications. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of challenging projects, especially in areas like data pipelines, SQL, and cloud infrastructure. Here’s what you can expect:

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend services with a strong focus on data pipelines, API development, and infrastructure.
• Database Optimization: Implement and optimize databases and storage solutions to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
• ETL & Data Workflows: Build and maintain ETL processes and data workflows, ensuring data integrity, performance, and efficiency.
• API Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications and third-party systems.
• Architecture & Infrastructure: Participate in architectural decisions and play a key role in continuously improving the backend infrastructure and systems.
• Best Practices: Implement and advocate for backend best practices, especially in code quality, performance optimization, and security.
• Technology Exploration: Proactively explore new technologies and approaches to enhance the performance, scalability, and security of backend systems.

Requirements

Based in Canada

5+ years working on production web applications

Extensive experience with TypeScript (preference) or Go

Experience of working on crypto or financial products
