Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accountant to become a part of the Shared Services Accounting team. Reporting directly to the VP, Accounting, the Corporate Accountant performs the month-end close activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position initiates and posts journal entries from various sub-systems and financial applications; monitors posted financial data; prepares financial analyses and reconciliations, participates in the preparation of monthly financial statements as well as support tax and audit requests.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Primary preparer of accounting transactions and reconciliations including but not limited to
    • Fixed assets
    • Travel and expenses (purchase cards)
    • ASC 842 lease accounting
    • Prepaid Expenses
  • Monthly financial close activities including preparation and posting of Corporate Accounting journal entries.
  • Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly reporting and year-end financial statements.
  • Assist with audit and tax efforts to support external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Utilize technology and automation tools to streamline accounting processes and increase efficiency.
  • Always willing to assist with new initiatives and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, combined with 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication, verbal, and written skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and have the ability to function independently and multi-task.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Possess mindset for continuous process improvement.
  • Advanced computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Excel, including financial formulas and complex financial workbooks.
