Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Description

Responsible for Commercial Program Management activities within the EU Commercial team, the Associate Director, PMO will be based in the EU/UK and report into the VP of the PMO but will work very closely with VP of International Sales based in the EU.  This role will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of EU commercial projects with the EU commercial team. Working closely with functional leaders within the organization to facilitate the creation of portfolios plans, projects, resources and budgets necessary to execute the programs. Ensure all programs have adequate program plans such that they are executed on time, within budget and consistent with the company’s goals. The scope of projects could involve acceleration projects associated with the J&J Integration activities and regional sales model changes within the EU. Other areas of responsibility would be to work with the sales and marketing leads to understand the relevant improvement projects, planning / execution of new product launches and other business critical projects.   
  
Essential Job Functions 
  
  • Management responsibilities for the commercial projects within the PMO. 
  • Partner with Commercial teams to evaluate and create and scope the Commercial project portfolio. 
  • Ensure adequate staffing for execution of the portfolio. 
  • Partner with functional leads to ensure appropriate resources are identified to complete company goals and objectives. 
  • Partner with business team and functional leads to determine budgets necessary for completion of approved projects. 
  • Ensure appropriate visibility & reporting of the progress of major programs/projects across all functions and levels including the Leadership Team. 
  • Provide oversite to ensure timely reviews for commercial projects. 
  • Facilitate business trade-off decisions and project reprioritization as required. 
  • Identify and implement best practices for program management. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and execute organizational process improvements. 
  • Be committed to the development and improvement of critical systems and processes. 
  • As needed, coordinate and participate in events, which provide feedback such as physician interface meetings.

Requirements 
  
  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in medical device development, including experience in leadership roles in all phases of product development. 
  • Experience running a PMO in a complex and high-growth environment, broad- and expert-level program/project management capabilities preferred. 
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification highly preferred. 
  • Experience with disposable medical device development preferably vascular catheters and technology experience. 
  • Experience taking a product from concept through clinical or commercial release. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. 
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. 
  • High level of enthusiasm, motivation, and drive for results. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, adept at navigating organizational challenges and possess ability to work through others and accomplish objectives. 
  • Ability to establish personal credibility and build trust quickly. 
  • Ability to travel as needed within the EU region and the US, up to 25%.
