Overview:

The Specialty Clinical Programs Pharmacist works closely with multiple teams throughout the enterprise to maximize the strategic approach to specialty drug therapy optimization and specialty drug focused clinical programs.

Responsibilities:

Understand and Use Clinical Integrated Platforms to Drive Clinical Reporting:

  • Proficiency in using clinical information systems and integrated platforms (like EHRs or data analytics tools) to collect, analyze, and report on patient data.
  • Ability to utilize these platforms to enhance clinical outcomes, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Strong Critical Thinking Skills:

  • Ability to evaluate complex situations, identify potential problems, and devise effective solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills are essential for making informed decisions in clinical environments, where data-driven insights can lead to improved patient care.

Self-directed:

  • Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities independently without needing constant supervision.
  • This includes setting personal goals, prioritizing work, and maintaining productivity.

Works Well Both Independently and Within a Team Setting:

  • Flexibility to collaborate effectively with colleagues, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders while also being capable of handling individual responsibilities.
  • Important for roles that require both teamwork (e.g., in interdisciplinary clinical teams) and solo tasks (e.g., data analysis).

  • This skill is crucial in clinical settings where data-driven decisions can impact patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

Experience Launching Clinical Programs:

  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, and managing clinical programs.
  • This includes everything from the initial planning stages to execution, monitoring, and evaluation of program outcomes.
Qualifications:

Education:                 

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. PharmD preferred.
  • Licensed as RPh granted by appropriate state licensing and in good standing required.
  • Board certification or certified specialty pharmacist certification preferred

Experience:

  • 5 years related work experience required in specialty pharmacy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical care, pharmacy systems and design of clinical programs
  • Prior PBM experience desired
  • Experience working with oncology clinical programs or in an oncology clinic desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Design, implementation and maintenance of clinical programs.
  • Develop and execute specialty drug therapy optimization strategies.
  • Produce presentations and reports to be shared with senior leadership and/or externally.
  • Lead analysis and generation of insights related to specialty drug trends.
  • Monitor and manage specialty drug pipeline and reporting
  • Collaborate with specialty pharmacy, managed care, health systems and external clients
  • Develop and maintain staff clinical education
  • Develop and maintain clinical patient education resources
  • Collaborate and implementation teams to define strategies for program implementation.
  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  • Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  • Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
