The opportunity

Saab are industry participants in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement or (CCA).  The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). The CSI-IPT evolves the current independently executing programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 under an umbrella enterprise organisation formed as a program of programs.

The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the CoA to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.

About the role:

The Learning and Development Lead is responsible for the development and implementation of Learning and Development initiatives across the CSI-IPT.  Reporting to the People and Culture Manager the role will:

  • Manage the learning and development capability of the CSI-IPT in accordance with the resource forecast demands.
  • Work with the CSI-IPT Engineering and Logistics Capability Manager and partner organisations development stakeholders to ensure technical team is equipped to deliver outcomes to the programs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Learning and Development initiatives to drive continuous learning within the CSI-IPT.
  • Work with the CSI-IPT Leadership Team and Functional Mangers to build and implement Learning & Development solutions in line with CSI-IPT needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a suite of core support tools to encourage and support staff learning.
  • Development and implement an annual training plan within allocated training budgets.
  • Identify areas of long-term strategic development within the Learning & Development environment and put forward recommendations.
  • Facilitation of internal training workshops, with support from the CSI-IPT Change Manager and discipline specialists.
  • Liaise with partner organisations for access to and reuse of partner learning and development resources.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing learning and development processes and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and human resources experience within a learning and development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with training needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation of relevant training and development programs.
  • Significant experience in a direct customer/supplier relationship environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles underpinning team leadership and management.
  • Experienced with the fundamentals within Change Management.
  • Working in an Alliance or relationship-based operation.
  • Experience in a Defence environment is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in learning & development and/or training
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
