Sr. Market Intelligence & Data Analyst to join our
Stop Loss Product team!
About The Role
In this role, you will capture, analyze, synthesize, and report out on competitive developments and trends in the employer stop loss market, including the benchmarking of Symetra's product and services. You will predict future state scenarios for the competitive landscape and provide product positioning information to Sales and other internal partners. You will represent the Stop Loss Product team on cross-functional initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Work in partnership with Product, Actuarial, Sales, Marketing, IT and Business Analysts to collect inputs from competitive research providers, customers, agents/advisors, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Build complex spreadsheets for reporting & charting as well as for modeling competitive landscapes.
- Build and maintain internal tools to share competitive intelligence (e.g., product rates & features, sales strategies, market position, commissions) and trends.
- Query, consolidate and present data to senior management.
- Synthesize a wide range of inputs to build data sets from which short, intermediate and long-term trends can be analyzed and strategic and tactical questions answered.
- Provide analytical and design support to internal teams to improve product feasibility, development, sales and marketing.
- Identify areas of opportunity for strategic decision-making based on comparing the competitive intelligence data sets and our internal demographic data sets.
- Partner with Actuarial to analyze financial data and build financial and risk models to support product management, product development, and competitive positioning.
- Provide competitive information and Symetra product positioning to internal Sales personnel on specific inquiries related to potential markets or competitors.
- Serve on cross-functional project teams and work with other internal departments on initiatives that leverage competitive and/or internal Symetra product data.

Compensation
Salary Range: $75,300 – 125,600 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Your Experience And Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study highly preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience with employer stop loss products required.
- Solid understanding of employer stop loss insurance products and markets required.
- 2 years analytical experience required.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and adept Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills internally across the organization and within the stop loss industry.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Some minimal travel required.
