Medical Billing Specialist - Payment Posting & Reconciliation

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately posting payments from Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), electronic remittances, and patient payments. Your duties will include reconciling deposits, allocating funds to the appropriate CPT codes, identifying and following up on claims with zero payments, and managing recoupment processes. Additionally, you will perform insurance receipt posting and analysis to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and record payments and adjustments to accounts efficiently.
• Post copays, deductibles, coinsurance, write-offs, and payments according to EOBs.
• Apply recoupments as outlined in EOBs.
• Utilize account information to assist in write-offs for inclusive CPTs based on payor guidelines.
• Execute system-related transactions to accurately post daily cash receipts, retractions, refunds, and denial and adjustment postings.
• Meet productivity goals while maintaining a high standard of quality in your work.
• Handle sensitive information with care by adhering to professional standards, company policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical billing terminology and processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent documentation abilities.
• Effective time management skills with a focus on delivering quality results.
• Basic math skills are necessary for success in this role.
