What you’ll do
This is a critical delivery role, setting out multi-horizon roadmaps, whilst at the same time, being hands-on to support development and execution through frequent engagement from front line to Director level and requiring regular engagement at Managing Director level.
The Supplier Safety Lead is accountable for uplifting and driving enhanced safety maturity within WFC and supporting SH&W transformation of the wider Woolworths Group specifically in the area of supplier risk, and must therefore, work collaboratively with a broad range of external stakeholders (including, but not limited to, manufacturing and processing partners, livestock suppliers, and industry bodies).
The Supplier Safety Lead:
- Synthesises the bigger, complex picture, into a realistic and achievable roadmap by working closely with key stakeholders across WFC and at a Group level
- Uplifts capability across WFC by coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to leaders and team members that they work with; providing advice and insights into trends, measures and preventative strategies.
- Acts as an advocate and ambassador for the management of supplier risk and priorities across the Group, role modelling active safety leadership and engagement.
- Support continuous improvement by ensuring assurance processes are established and effective in providing stakeholders with a clear view of supplier safety performance
- Embraces Agile principles and leverages Agile ways of working; is comfortable having direct accountability for an end result but without necessarily having direct control over the required resources.
What you’ll bring
- At least 7 years work experience, ideally within retail, manufacturing or similar fast paced environment
- Ideally worked at senior level for at least 3 years
- Qualifications: Bachelor degree, preferably in Safety or direct related field
- Worked in a modern day matrix environment
- Experience with interpreting Business strategy in order to set and deliver objectives within near term frames (i.e. 1-2 year time frames)
- Strong knowledge and experience of safety risk management
- Experience with fast paced environment, with growing complexity
- Strong verbal and written communication including presentations
