POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Senior Director of Supply Planning will lead the Supply Chain Intelligence and External Manufacturing groups that consist of Supply Chain Specialists, Analysts and Planners that will also serve as the Supply/Inventory Planning Center of Excellence (COE) for AirLife.

The incumbent is expected to provide vision and strategy to develop and drive supply chain initiatives that enable speed, flexibility, and agility to optimize service and inventory levels that ensure product availability to meet company and supply chain business plan objectives. Define the COE’s vision, mission, and strategic goals related to supply chain planning.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Advanced Planning Systems (i.e. Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, OMP, Logility, etc) and proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • The incumbent must also be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple priorities and possess the ability to drive root cause resolution.
  • Continuous improvement background with successful implementations.
  • Cross-functional knowledge throughout the supply chain (manufacturing, distribution, planning, sourcing and supply, transportation) including demonstrated knowledge of financial metrics and drivers
  • Detail oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support AirLife’s significant growth over the next 5 years
  • Able to communicate to leadership effectively, simplifying complex supply chain topics is easily understood concepts in both visual and written form.
  • Ability to develop/implement strategies, with experience to get involved and solve critical issues.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build effective teams, towards common vision and direction.
  • Excellent customer orientation and customer service delivery.

  • Multilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred.

Level of Experience:  

  • 12+ years of people management experience required
  • 7-9+ years’ experience in Supply, Inventory, and Corporate Planning required
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry preferred
  • APICS - CSCP, CPIM, SCOR preferred
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred

Level of Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business field
  • MBA preferred

Travel

20% of the time at stable state (may require more during initial on-boarding).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaison with executive leadership to align strategic roadmap with key stakeholders across functions, hierarchy and different parts of the business.
  • Collaborate and support the development of AirLife’s SIOP roadmap.
  • Develop predictive models for inventory optimization and supply risk assessment.
  • Provide input and justify annual budget needs relating to supply chain planning center of excellence.
  • Lead the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of supply planning systems across the supply chain.
  • Drive adoption and utilization of supply planning system functionalities to improve planning accuracy, efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Identify and implement optimization opportunities within day-to-day activities.
  • Support decision making through timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide planning leadership and COE for training, documentation, support, and coordination for plant and staff roles which are involved with Supply/Inventory/Production Planning.
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support for supply chain functional areas – i.e. customer service, planning, distribution, transportation, etc.
  • Support the reporting needs by providing business leadership around analytics, design, communications and implementation.  Ensure that reporting is accurate, timely, and provides user flexibility and visibility.
  • Establish metrics, goals, checks and balances to measure and improve performance in the areas of supply planning and finished goods purchasing.
  • Conduct career development and performance evaluation discussions with all team members. Discussions should result in specific plans to enhance current performance and provide an actionable roadmap for career and personal development. All team members should receive timely coaching and feedback on their performance as well as their career goals.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Provide leadership to ensure our organization attracts, develops, and retains the best people and fosters an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to set standards in master data management (MDM) to ensure a common understanding, consistency, accuracy and control in the ongoing maintenance and application use of information.
