Job description

You as part of tonies:

The Data & Insights (D&I) department is on a mission to ensure that all tonies leverage data to bring joy and adventure to our listeners from all around the world.

As a Senior Business Analyst in the D&I department working for tonies’ Strategy team, you will have a crucial role in that mission. You will be the first dedicated Analyst for the Strategy Team and bring the team to the next level from a data perspective.

Your work will help the Strategy team to foster the overall strategic development of tonies through data-driven insights on both internal performance and tonies’ external environment.  You will enable the team to identify and address the most important strategic action areas and keep track of our company's health and development. Through this, you will act as a trusted sparring partner, who digs deeper into the data and not only reports on the WHAT, but especially answers the WHY and comes up with data-driven hypotheses on HOW to influence the outcome.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Stakeholder Management: Managing stakeholders by understanding their needs, identifying new opportunities and agreeing on a common roadmap

  • Value Generation: Providing insights that result in action items with measurable impact for your stakeholders

  • Enablement: Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the company by defining meaningful KPIs and making them accessible for insights generation via self-service tools

  • Data Governance: Collaborate closely with your data peers to share best practices about tools and processes and to leverage global efficiencies and quality standards

What we are looking for:
  • 5+ years experience in analytics roles, preferably in a company with both physical and digital products and in a corporate strategy environment, to create meaningful insights and KPIs to steer the business

  • Good networker to identify new projects with stakeholders

  • Track record in building mid- and short-term roadmaps, explaining them to the senior management, and executing towards our long-term vision

  • Strong experience in transforming and quality-checking data up to visualizing results and identifying actions with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Advanced expertise with commonly used analytics tools like dbt, Snowflake, and Tableau and their best practices to allow for the needed scalability and quality

  • Strong Statistical background to identify the right analytical approaches and make profound conclusions

  • An analytical mindset, with the intellectual curiosity to search for context and insights behind the numbers, combined with a strong business acumen

  • Good communication skills and the ability to share your value-driving data observations with stakeholders on all levels

Why tonies?
  • Global Teamwork: We collaborate across departmental and country borders on our vision to bring the Toniebox into every child's room in the world.
  • Come as you are: This applies not only to the dress code but also to everything else. Because only where you truly feel comfortable can you give your best.
  • Mobility: Choose the option that suits you best - a Deutschlandticket (public transport ticket) for unlimited mobility, a monthly contribution for an office parking space, a leasing bicycle, or a remote work subsidy.
  • Enhanced Security: Benefit from subsidies for company pension plans, occupational pension schemes, and occupational disability insurance.
  • Rest & Time Off: Enjoy 30 days of paid annual leave as well as three additional days off such as Rosenmontag, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. After one year of employment, you can also use up to 10 "toniecation days" (unpaid leave days).
  • Flexible Working: Equipped with individual equipment, you can work remotely for up to 5 days in consultation with your team - depending on your area of responsibility. And if you're up for a workation, you can work from abroad for up to 4 weeks per year with us.
  • Continuous Learning: Benefit from our internal and external training opportunities as well as an individual learning budget to continuously expand your knowledge.
  • Language Learning & Relaxation: Improve your communication skills with the language learning app Babbel and find relaxation through our access to the meditation app Calm.
  • Discounts: Benefit from attractive discounts on our entire range of tonies products.
