Good health and nutrition empower children. We support over 184,000 Community Health Workers in 46 countries, providing timely counselling on healthy behaviours and building bridges to improved health and nutrition services. Our integrated approach enables caregivers, service providers, and over 300,000 faith leaders, to protect, advocate for, and improve the health and nutrition of children where we work.

What You'll Do:

Liaise with Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator to help support research activities and analyze qualitative data collected through Focus Group Discussions, Individual Interviews, and household surveys.  

Participate in weekly study calls/meetings and become familiar with the study protocol, including use of consent/assent forms   Increase knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies  Increase skills in qualitative data analysis, including use of the software MaxQDA  Increase skills in quantitative data analysis, including use of the software SPSS  Code focus group transcripts and individual transcripts for key themes using a Code Book developed by the Principal Investigator, when needed    Support the writing up of key findings generated through the qualitative and quantitative data analysis

What You’ll Bring:

  •  Master’s in Public Health: Currently enrolled in or completed a Master’s program in Public Health.

  • Research Methodologies: Proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

  • Global Health and Nutrition: Possess knowledge in global health and nutrition.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to maintain cultural sensitivity while collaborating with international staff.

What You Need to Know:

  • Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

  • Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Master in Public Health, Global Health, or related field.

  • Internship Cohort Dates: 27 January – 25 April. 

  • Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

  • Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (20-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.

  • Able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for the entire internship period: 27 January – 25 April. 

  • Current student or recent graduate from a graduate programme (within 2 years).

  • Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

  • Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
