Art Outsourcing Manager

We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for an Art Outsourcing Manager to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.

As the outsourcing manager, you have great passion for game development, a true team player and someone who loves collaborations and making games. You will collaborate closely with the director team, producers, and art leads to establish an efficient pipeline for our character/environment production. 

The ideal candidate should have a background in working on or managing stylized projects. This includes providing constructive feedback on outsourced assets, aiding in the selection and management of outsourcing studios, and ensuring smooth integration with the internal art team. You will be responsible for delivering timely artistic feedback and overseeing quality control towards outsourcing development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end art outsourcing process, including sourcing, onboarding, and maintaining communication with external art studios and individual artists 
  • Collaborate closely with Directors, producers and art leads to provide accurate and timely feedback/guidance to outsourcing partners, maintaining a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of a variety of asset workflows (3D models, textures, animations, etc.), and ensure smooth integration of outsourced assets into the project pipeline
  • Create and implement a cohesive outsource pipeline that supports efficient asset delivery, reviews, revisions, and final approvals
  • Proactively identify potential issues or bottlenecks in the outsourcing process and implement effective solutions to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
  •  Collect and generate detailed documentation, visual references, and examples of asset production, tools, procedures, and engine requirements to support external vendors.

 

  • Foster strong and transparent communication channels with external partners, providing clear feedback, guidance, and support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Art Directors, Producers, and Project Managers, to align project goals, schedules, and expectations
  • Collaborate with Operations, Legal and Finance for partner onboarding, compliance and budget tracking
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of external partners to assess their capabilities, quality, and adherence to project requirements

Requirements:

  •  2-3 years of experience as an art content Outsource Manager, Supervisor, or Art Lead.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of latest development tool and software packages 
  • Strong knowledge of asset workflows for various types of a stylized game assets, including environment assets, character models, VFX, or concept packages
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can effectively convey artistic vision, feedback, and technical requirements

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience creating AAA assets in a production environment for PC and Console.
  • Mandarin (Chinese) language skill will be considered a plus.
  • Proficiency with production tracking tools such as JIRA and have experience working in Unreal engine 5 are considered a plus.
