What You Can Expect

As a member of the Zimmer Biomet Privacy Office and Legal Department, the Privacy Paralegal will provide support to help drive Zimmer Biomet’s Privacy by Design efforts and compliance with privacy laws and regulations globally.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Assist Global Privacy team members in the timely execution of day-to-day Privacy matters to ensure Zimmer Biomet’s compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, PIPL, APPI and other privacy and data protection laws around the world.
  • With the support of Privacy Counsel, serve as liaison to various internal corporate functions and business units to facilitate implementation of Privacy by Design processes and to understand and evaluate privacy implications of new business initiatives, product development activities, commercialization strategies and clinical research efforts.
  • Assist with information access requests and privacy impact assessments.
  • Develop, track, manage, update and organize privacy-related notices, policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate and address privacy-related issues and concerns in data processing agreements, business associate agreements, Software-as-a-Service agreements, licensing and distribution agreements, and mergers and acquisition agreements.
  • Assist with privacy training programs and other awareness initiatives.
  • Assist with privacy compliance reviews, audits, and investigations.
  • Collaborate with information security team on risk mitigation efforts, due diligence processes, and customer inquiries.
  • Track development of worldwide privacy regulations, and present changes and potential business impacts to Privacy team members. Assist with basic research as necessary.
  • Assist with the investigation, management and documentation of privacy incidents.

Your Background

  • Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate, required
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of Privacy paralegal or similar experience
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 10%
