The EDI Coordinator is a vital team member, working closely with business leaders in Customer Service and Sourcing to align and advance EDI-related initiatives that drive company growth. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture, Integration, and Development, this role collaborates with our EDI outsource partner, internal teams, and external trading partners to ensure successful EDI implementation across the organization.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Day-to-Day EDI Management: Execute daily EDI operations to support business strategies that reduce costs, improve information accessibility, and foster relationships with customers, vendors, and merchants.
- Project Management & Process Improvement: Utilize project management and process re-engineering skills to enhance the electronic exchange of information, service order systems, and automated purchasing systems, adapting to increased transaction volumes and new partner requirements.
- EDI Specification Management: Collect, analyze, and maintain EDI specifications from trading partners, ensuring seamless integration.
- Development & Testing Coordination: Work with internal and external EDI development teams to design, develop, test, and deploy EDI maps and integrate them with SAP ECC. Coordinate with external EDI providers and testing agencies, following change management processes to ensure smooth deployments.
- Transaction Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Monitor inbound and outbound transactions, ensuring successful delivery and timely resolution of any issues with trading partners and internal teams.
- Documentation & Process Flow Maintenance: Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, EDI process flows, and integration mapping specifications.
- EDI Mapping Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency with contemporary EDI translators such as GXS, Gentran, SAP PI/PO B2B Addon, and SAP Integration Suite to communicate effectively with the EDI outsource partner and internal developers.
- Strategic EDI Planning: Support strategic planning for EDI initiatives, contributing technological insights and innovative strategies to enhance business functions.
- Disaster Recovery & Other Duties: Assist with disaster recovery planning and documentation, and handle additional responsibilities as needed.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Education: Preferably a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Consideration may be given to an associate degree, a two-year technical certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 7-10 years of progressive EDI-related work experience, with a deep understanding of EDI functions, design, and contemporary methods for electronic business transactions. Proven success in developing and executing strategic, cost-effective business initiatives.
- Experience with EDI documents such as 850, 855, 856, 810, 846, 820, and others relevant to the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in ANSI X.12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, SAP Partner profile setup, and output configurations.
- Experience with various SAP IDoc types, IDoc processing, BAPIs, and SAP Customer and Vendor master data.
- Thorough understanding of SAP QTC, RTC processes, and SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite.
- Ability to read and debug SAP ABAP code and develop SAP Functional Specifications for enhancing IDoc processing and order entry.
- Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to high ethical standards. Must be able to handle challenges, take initiative, and remain effective under pressure.
This position’s anticipated annual salary range is $86,000- $130,000. Apex Tool Group’s competitive compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, life and short term and long-term coverage/insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, educational assistance, 15 days paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays.
