DATA SCIENTIST

PPG Industries, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, has a work-at-home Data Scientist position (with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems; the remote worksite must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly trips to the corporate office) responsible for utilizing machine learning, computer vision, advanced statistical analysis, data mining, optimization, and data visualization methods to drive product and service development as well as to make recommendations and provide insights into solutions through agile teams and sprints. Specific duties include: (i) devising and applying algorithms related to deep learning and reinforcement learning; (ii) evaluating AI/ML readiness and providing data acquisition recommendations; and (iii) visualizing data to discover and communicate solutions and opportunities.

Must have a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.

Experience must include: (i) two (2) years with Python, SQL, Powershell, and Bash scripting languages; (ii) two (2) years with Microsoft Azure Cloud; (iii) two (2) years with machine learning techniques; (iv) two (2) years with data visualizations and story telling; and (v) one (1) year with either SQL or Hive database.

Experience can be concurrent.
