The Facilities Maintenance Manager is a strong, strategic partner to operations and the business in supporting a large, high-volume fulfillment center operation. They align, develop, and implement the overall maintenance strategy for the fulfillment center to meet the needs of the business effectively and safely.
Responsibilities
Develop the capacity (people, equipment, and processes) within the operations and maintenance to support the business strategy. Guide the acquisition and implementation of technology to meet business operations and maintenance activities Oversee continuous improvement efforts in facilities/maintenance in support of the core operations of the business. Management of all contracts related to the facility and maintenance for the operation. Oversee the coordination and tracking of major projects from development through implementation. Strong leadership and team building skills with demonstrated success in leading a large maintenance team of 15+ employees. Serve as technical resource in the maintaining, trouble shooting and installing of all equipment in the fulfillment center including packaging machinery, racking, conveyors, light fork lift repair, electrical, network wiring, card access and surveillance, compressors, pneumatics, AV/AC, and plumbing. Maintain records on all equipment usage and maintenance schedules. Responsible for supervision of third-party vendors and service companies. Responsible for ensuring compliance for all Federal, State, and local ordinances. Hands on experience of PC and/or PLC controllers, frequency drives, transformers, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical power distribution, and controls. Understand the needs of his/her customers and ensure that all equipment is performing to the customer's expectations. Encourage culture from "fix it when it brakes" mentality, to a proactive preventive maintenance environment Responsible for the physical condition and cleanliness of the facility and grounds. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common trade journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-functional, multi-cultural environment. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables are required Other duties as assigned. The physical demands of this job are regularly walking from warehouse to office site, standing for extended periods of time, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds to aid operations. Good vision, and hearing for verbal communication with forklift safety
Qualifications
Four-year degree in Engineering or related technical field or five years of maintenance management experience in light or heavy industrial settings or a combination of both. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory and best practice repair and maintenance principles. Trade licenses/certifications, past or current, in electrical, plumbing, welding, conveyor systems a plus. Professional certification in maintenance management a plus. Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with equipment support, breakdowns, and emergency situations. Demonstrated experience in tracking Projects Experience in Lean Noted experience in AIB compliance Capital Budgeting Knowledge Of OSHA regulations Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be available to be on call.
