Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

We are an innovative leader in corporate ESG reporting, helping companies navigate the evolving reporting landscape and stakeholder needs. We produce top-tier sustainability and ESG reports, public disclosures to key standards, implement practices to improve ESG ratings, and create communications to share our clients' stories with diverse stakeholders. We are looking for senior and principal consultant level practitioners who can effectively guide clients through the planning, development, design, publication, and socialization phases of their sustainability and ESG reports. In this role you will also help clients understand the evolving landscape of voluntary standards and mandatory ESG disclosure requirements and guide clients in responding to these expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • As a Senior Consultant/Principal Consultant in our ESG Reporting & Disclosure Service Line, you will be expected to support and/or manage the delivery of client engagements targeted at improving clients ESG reporting and disclosure. Delivering tasks on time and within budget, and with quality, either as, or in support of, the project manager / project lead to ensure that projects meet or exceed targets and deadlines. You could be managing several projects at any one time, each with their own dedicated project teams.

Client Management

  • Working with a senior client manager, you will share responsibility for managing client expectations as well as helping them optimize value through projects to drive continuous, strategic improvement. You will work to develop a trusted advisor relationship with all clients and focus relentlessly on helping them be successful in defining and achieving their reporting and disclosure goals.

Sustainability/ ESG Reporting & Disclosure

  • You will be coaching clients on the evolving sustainability/ ESG reporting landscape and supporting them in the development of meaningful public disclosure strategies that both tell their stories in an authentic way and optimize their scoring in various ESG standards, frameworks, and assessment platforms. You will develop content, including writing and editing reports, disclosures and other communications materials. You will also support reporting strategy projects via rater and framework gap analysis, benchmarking and reporting trends analysis as well as support the client in gathering data and information and translating key sustainability messages into mediums for different target audiences (e.g., investor reporting frameworks, ESG rater and ranker platforms, customer surveys, employees, etc.).

ESG Performance

  • You will be advising clients how to prioritize, evaluate and improve their ESG performance through strategic, programmatic and disclosure recommendations. This will include desktop research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and the integration of ESG data management tools and / or advanced data analytics.

Business Development

  • In collaboration with a senior client manager, you will be contributing to and developing proposals for potential clients and projects and expanding scopes of engagement and support with existing clients, helping them drive their sustainability agenda. You will also support leadership in evolving our services to help our clients with regulatory compliance, regulatory change management, mandatory reporting readiness, and other enterprise-level ESG compliance needs.

Thought Leadership

  • Staying informed of the ever-changing regulatory landscape, trends and developments related to ESG reporting, communications, and disclosure, and providing advice and thought leadership on such changes for clients and internal teams.

Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Senior Consultant: 4+ years of experience as a sustainability practitioner, with experience supporting a company's ESG strategy and disclosures.
  • Principal Consultant: 6+ years of experience as a sustainability practitioner, with experience supporting a company's ESG strategy and disclosures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainability/ESG issues and related reporting trends, drivers and frameworks with the ability to identify and articulate opportunities to improve ESG disclosure and performance.
  • Proficiency in some of the following disclosures: CDP (Climate, Water, and/ or Forest), and some of S&P Global CSA (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, EcoVadis.
  • Proficiency in the following reporting standards or frameworks: Integrated Reporting, GRI, ISSB SASB Standards, TCFD.
  • Familiarity with existing and pending ESG disclosure requirements: SFDR, CSRD, ISSB, SEC, etc.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Self-directed, highly motivated with an ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with virtual teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a client service ethos.
  • An ability to manage a variety of projects at any one time with high attention to detail.
