About The Role

As a Software Development Manager will lead a highly motivated software development teams that creates cloud IP telephony services (VoIP) within our UCaaS platform. You will be working with IP telephony services (VoIP) allowing our customers to receive services such as phone calls, voice mail, call center, conferences, faxes, etc. Your focus will include the development of new and support of existing modules of the server part of VOIP service, writing documentation, interaction with our QA team.

Responsibilities


  • Lead Development team to ensure software and service quality across successive development cycles
  • Responsible for software development and guiding software engineers in developing scalable, reliable, cloud-based VOIP applications.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
  • Provide Technical leadership and mentor engineers through their career journey.
  • Identify areas for team and process improvement
  • Write technical documentation (architecture, services description)
  • Coordinate and work with DevOps regarding Continuous Deployment and Observability
  • Participate in technical design reviews
  • Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives
  • Be both highly technical, hands-on coder and an effective people manager
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams


Required Skills


  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent related work experience
  • 3+ years Engineering Team Management Software Development Management
  • 7+ years as a Software Developer with proven experience in OOP languages (C++, Java, etc)
  • Experience with Telcom and VoIP technologies including SIP, RTP, SRTP, G.722, G.711, G.729A protocols
  • Ability to understand someone else's code
  • Good Analytical skills
  • Good understanding of SOA and Microservices architectures and design patterns
  • Experience in multi-threaded and event driven programming
  • Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment, using virtual machines and containers
  • Hands-on experience writing clean and testable code (unit testing)
  • Strong knowledge of Git version control System (GitLab, Bitbucket, etc)
  • Outstanding communication skills (English), proactive, problem solver, team player
  • Working experience with Agile development incorporating CI


Desired Skills & Experience


  • Experience with TCP and UDP networking protocols
  • Knowledge and experience in C++ (C++11/C++14) including stl and boost
  • Knowledge and experience in Java 8 or greater
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience in developing high-load applications
  • Experience with Network technologies and peer-to-peer communication (NAT, ICE, STUN, TURN)
  • Experience with voice quality metrics, jitter, packet loss, Mean Opinion Scores (MOS), Quality of Service (QoS)
