Job description

Hazel Health is the nation's largest virtual provider of school-based healthcare services, and has been recognized by Fast Company asone of the world’s most innovative places to work in 2023.

By partnering with districts and health plans across the country, Hazel transforms schools into the most accessible front door to physical and mental healthcare. Today, Hazel's diverse team of licensed providers deliver therapy and medical services virtually (in school or at home) to over four million K-12 students — regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. Hazel aims to remove all barriers to the mental and physical health care that children need to thrive: in school, at home, and in life.

Helping students and their families feel better takes a team of smart, dedicated people. As an integral member of the Hazel team, you will

  • Make an Impact: Work with a team that is increasing equitable access to quality health care experiences for students and their families.
  • Enable Scale: Work with a team that is building and professionalizing a high growth high impact social enterprise.
  • Feel Valued: Work with a team that is being compensated competitively, developed professionally, and celebrated frequently for making a meaningful difference.

Check us out at Hazel Health Careers.

The Role

We’re searching for an experienced Sales Account Executive who is energized to join a small and nimble sales team! Building off of your existing knowledge and relationships with K-12 schools, you’ll drive efforts to close Hazel Health partnerships in districts with 10,000 or more students, as well as help grow existing partnerships.

You’ll be deeply involved in finding champions within school districts at multiple levels, and who are passionate about Hazel’s mission to revolutionize what healthcare can be in schools. You’ll also ensure that, once partnerships are closed, those districts are well trained to best utilize Hazel’s services to positively impact their students.

As a member of the Sales team, you’ll also play a part in shaping the sales org. In collaboration with the team, you’ll help create scalable, innovative processes that allow us to grow our customer bases in targeted markets. You’ll thrive on this team if you enjoy a fast-paced, roll-up-your-sleeves environment; if you’re comfortable taking initiative in uncharted territories; and have a strong knack for building trusted relationships quickly.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and implement sales strategies for prospective district partnerships, allowing Hazel to expand its relationship with large districts in XYZ locations
  • Engage and guide prospects through all aspects of the sales cycle from initial outreach to closing, doing the necessary discovery to understand their districts’ healthcare needs and opportunities
  • Build and maintain accurate pipelines and sales forecasts for Hazel Health leadership
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of prospective partners, becoming a trusted advisor to C-Suite, Superintendent, and Executive Directors in K-12 Districts
  • Partner with broader cross-functional teams across Hazel in achieving or exceeding annual sales targets through closing new districts and expanding existing partnerships
  • Collaborate with the sales team in creating shared goals and an inclusive and supportive team environment

What Excites Us

  • K-12 Sales Acumen: You have deep, quantifiable experience in successfully selling to large districts in the K-12 market; bonus points if you’ve previously worked in schools or district roles before shifting to sales.
  • Relationship-Driven: You lead by relating to your stakeholders, be they internal or external; you’ve developed a strong reputation as a people person, and somebody that folks are excited to work with.
  • Mission-Alignment: You are inspired by providing equitable access to healthcare by partnering with schools and can serve as an advocate.
  • Strong Organization: You have experience in independently leading sales cycles and prioritize effectively to meet sales targets.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: You embrace frequent change and testing new ideas. When there is not black and white guidance, know how to problem solve to get the job done and you’re not deterred by fast-changing priorities.
  • Eagerness to Learn: You’re someone who loves to learn and grow, both as a professional and as a teammate. You have an ability to learn, absorb, and quickly develop your knowledge of changing business and customer demands.

Minimum Experience

  • 6+ years of K-12 sales experience, preferably in large districts
  • Demonstrated success in closing deals on a 6-month cycle
  • Ability to travel up to 25% or more as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in creating and training on new sales methodologies

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, with a base salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 with additional commission eligibility, a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid-time off, and a broad range of other benefits and perks. Review our benefits at Hazel Health Benefits.
