Job description

MEDVA, a leading virtual assistant company in the healthcare industry, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Spanish) to join our team. As a Bilingual Medical Receptionist at MEDVA, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and administrative support to healthcare providers and patients. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will be essential in facilitating effective communication and delivering excellent patient care.

Please be aware of the following terms: This position is designated for an Independent Contractor, thereby excluding eligibility for benefits, including health insurance, from the client. Contractors should also consider the tax implications and their responsibility to file taxes independently with the Internal Revenue Service.

Responsibilities
  • Manage front desk operations, including checking in/out patients, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars for healthcare providers
  • Assist with patient registration and insurance verification
  • Translate and interpret between English and Spanish for patients and healthcare providers
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information and medical records
  • Handle billing and payment processing
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experience

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role in the US healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of US healthcare regulations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Detail-oriented and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide your own computer equipment to work from home
