Your Most Critical Outcome
As the Head of Engineering-Application Development, you will lead GradGuard's talented team of engineers. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in leading engineering teams, as well as knowledge and experience with PHP, JavaScript, and AWS.

Your Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of engineers giving them guidance, mentorship, and support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and roadmaps.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software applications.
Ensure the team adheres to best practices and coding standards.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
Identify and address technical challenges and bottlenecks in a proactive manner.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

You Bring to the Table

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and leading engineering teams.
Strong knowledge and experience in PHP, JavaScript, and AWS.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in software development life cycle management.
Familiarity with Data Intelligence practices and tools is a plus.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

Typical work environment for a professional office space with hybrid and remote peers.
Largely a stationary role with some moving from place to place.
Constant use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor and other office equipment.
Some evening and weekend work, depending upon workload.
Some overnight travel may be required for work, events, and trainings.
